About the Department of Rehabilitation Sciences
The Department of Rehabilitation Sciences centers on the body and movement. The department consists of three main areas: Athletic Training, Health Sciences and Physical Therapy. We are also in the applicant stage of the ACOTE Accredidation Process for a Master of Occupational Therapy (MOT) program.
If you have interests in the areas of sports medicine, injury management and sport science, then a degree in Athletic Training may be the right fit for you.
If the movement of joints and muscles as a person participates in sports or other daily activities interests you, then Health Sciences would be an excellent degree choice. Graduates will be prepared to work in wellness and fitness, to better understand coaching, to enter graduate programs in the allied health sciences and medicine, or to pursue research and retail opportunities.
Has your dream been to help others improve their ability to function after an injury, illness or disease, or reach their maximum level of fitness? In Physical Therapy, you could be working with individuals to evaluate their physical strength, flexibility, coordination and function, and then develop or carry out a plan to promote their optimal health.
