MA in Communication Sciences and Disorders ACinD Collaborative Distance Learning Program

About the Program

The University of Akron and the University of Cincinnati have partnered to offer a collaborative distance learning graduate program that leads to a master’s degree in speech-language pathology. The Distance Learning Program begins in January each year.  Students are directly admitted to either the University of Akron or the University of Cincinnati.

This part-time graduate program offers on-line academic coursework delivered by 3 Ohio universities (The University of Akron, Ohio State University, and the University of Cincinnati). Courses run for 8 consecutive semesters beginning January of each year. You will participate in clinical practicum where you will be required to accumulate a minimum of 400 clock hours supervised by a licensed and certified speech-language pathologist in a variety of clinical sites including school and health care settings. It is imperative that you have the flexibility during the week days in order to complete clinical practicum requirements. The number of hours per week spent in practicum increases as you move through the program

At this time, admission to the University of Cincinnati for this program REQUIRES that you live within a 2-3 hour radius of the University of Cincinnati as we are not able to support clinical supervision from greater distances.

Applications qualified for admission will have either an undergraduate degree in Communication Sciences Disorders, have completed the required undergraduate prerequisites, or will be in the process of completing, the required undergraduate leveling courses.  For more information on admissions, please see the Admission Requirement section.
