Physical Therapy
Curriculum
The program’s curriculum is designed to prepare graduates who will be effective entry-level, contemporary practitioners of physical therapy in a wide variety of clinical settings. Therefore, the curriculum does not emphasize any specific area of concentration but rather addresses the physical therapy care and treatment of conditions that may affect any of the major body systems across the lifespan.
The DPT curriculum uses an evidence-based approach to address the four practice patterns as outlined in the Guide to Physical Therapist Practice (Interactive Guide to Physical Therapist Practice by American Physical Therapy Association. 2003.):
- Musculoskeletal
- Neuromuscular
- Integumentary
- Cardiovascular/Pulmonary.
