Department of Analytical and Diagnostic Sciences
About the Department
The Department of Analytical and Diagnostics Sciences has three programs: Advanced Medical Imaging Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, and Transfusion and Transplantation Sciences.
Advanced Medical Imaging Technology
Advanced Medical Imaging Technology involves creating high quality, diagnostic medical images in a variety of health care settings. Professionals in this field combine their knowledge of physiology, pathology, medical imaging principles, and interpersonal skills to operate sophisticated imaging equipment while placing patients at ease. Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Nuclear Medicine Technology, and Sonography are three tracks that are offered. Students successfully completing the Bachelor of Science degree will complete two of the imaging tracks. Degree offered: Bachelor of Science
Clinical Laboratory Science
Apply your interest in scientific activities and analyses to clinical laboratory science and impact people’s lives and health by performing diagnostic procedures in clinical chemistry, microbiology, blood banking, hematology, toxicology and forensics. Over 70 percent of information on a patient's chart comes from the clinical laboratory. Your laboratory work will use both manual and automated techniques, may be broad ranging or specialized, and opens you to career and employment options in laboratory management, quality assurance, medical sales and technical support, biomedical and pharmaceutical research and public health. Degrees offered: Bachelor of Science | Bachelor of Science - Distance Learning | Certificate
Transfusion and Transplantation Sciences
