MS in Transfusion and Transplantation Sciences
Curriculum
Students in the program receive didactic and experiential training in the following areas:
- donor selection and collection
- therapeutic apheresis
- stem cell collection
- processing
- storage and transplant
- histocompatibility testing
- quality assurance
- blood component preparation and storage
- pretransfusion testing
- complex red cell antibody identification
- budget preparation; and
- communication of scientific information.
Required coursework also includes immunology, molecular genetics, cell biology, as well as elective courses to enhance the student’s understanding of transfusion and transplantation sciences.
