can also prepare yourself by working or volunteering
in a counseling/helping environment and by
shadowing and/or interning with a genetic
counselor.
To complete your application, you will need the following items:
- A personal statement of current academic
and career goals (see guidelines in the
GC program application form)
- Three letters of recommendation
- Transcripts from all the institutions
you attended
- The UC graduate school application and
fee ($40)
- The genetic counseling program application
- Graduate Record Exam (GRE), scores on
the general exam
- Test of English as a Foreign Language
(TOEFL) for applicants whose native language
is not English.
Apply by February 1 of the calendar
year in which you wish to begin the program.
If you are selected, we will encourage you
to interview with us in March. We will inform
