Financial Aid
The University of Cincinnati offers excellent financial
aid packages. The majority of our students receive some financial aid. Below are some examples of the kinds of aid available.
Scholarships or fellowships that pay partial tuition
Currently all genetic counseling
students receive partial tuition remission scholarships and have the
option to accept graduate assistantships.
Money for living expenses
You can receive a stipend (money
for living expenses) through teaching assistantships
or other work applicable to your major.
Yates Fellowship for Minority Students
Under-represented U.S. citizens or permanent residents
may be eligible
for the Yates Scholars Program. This award includes
a full-tuition scholarship, a waiver of general
fees, and a possible monthly stipend
to pay for living expenses.
The Yates Scholars Program
covers one academic year and will continue
in all following years as long as the student
maintains sufficient academic progress toward her/his degree.
Since 1998, the Genetic Counseling Program has
awarded five Yates scholarships.
Your application must be received and approved by February
1st. Yates awards are effective in September, at the beginning of the autumn academic quarter.
