Thea Owens (2nd year GC student) - awarded a scholarship to attend
Marshfield Clinic's Practical Genetics for Health Care Providers
Conference.
Courtney Doughty (2nd year GC student) - awarded $831 from the NSGC
Cancer Special Interest Group to conduct Courtney's master's thesis
related to evaluating result disclosure methods in BRCA genetic testing.
Jessica Hoffman (2nd year GC student) - three week fully funded
internship at the Mayo Clinic to gain experiences in molecular genetics,
cytogenetics, biochemical genetics, and maternal serum screening.
Kristen Lipscomb Sund (joint GC/MDB student) - Fully funded one week GC
internship at Myriad Genetics in Utah. This was awarded through a
joint NSGC/Myriad collaboration.
Katie Wusik, (program graduate), along with one other student
in the College of Allied Health Sciences, was nominated and received a
$2000 tuition scholarship from the College Club of Cincinnati.
Katie was also the recipient of the Student Project Award 2007 from the NSGC
Diversity Subcommittee to help support her thesis project entitled "CCA
Measurement of Cultural Competency in a Genetic Counseling Student Population"
