The University of Cincinnati Genetic Counseling Program now offers an
Online Topics in Personalized Medicine lecture series as a continuing
education opportunity for Genetic Counseling CEU’s.
This 6 hour course is directed at discussing personalized medicine and its
different applications in health care. Each lecture is presented using a
combined audio/video format and synchronized PowerPoint slides. The course
also features “An Introduction to Personalized Medicine” annotated
PowerPoint Tutorial and a bibliography with PDFs of several dozen articles
on personalized medicine to further challenge the learner.
Learners will review the basic definitions of personalized medicine.

Appreciate the current molecular technologies involved
with personalized medicine
•
Consider the ethical issues of current and potential uses
of personalized medicine.
•
Name future applications of personalized medicine and
how it may impact health care.

This event is co-sponsored by the American
Counseling Association (ACA). ACA is approved by the National Board of
Certified Counselors (NBCC), to offer up to 7.0 contact clock hours of
continuing education credit. ACA adheres to NBCC continuing education
guidelines. NBCC approved contact hours will be provided by ACA. ACA
offers 10 contact clock hours for every (1) continuing education unit, as
approved by the American Board of Genetic Counseling.
