Awards and Honors

To further celebrate the depth, innovation, and impact of our students’ scholarship, we have developed two awards for the CAHS Scholarly Showcase. These honors recognize exceptional research, creativity, and academic excellence, highlighting the outstanding contributions our students make to advancing allied health sciences.

Viewer’s Choice Award

Each poster session will feature a Viewer’s Choice Award, selected by showcase attendees. During each session, guests are invited to vote for the poster they find most compelling and impactful—considering clarity of message, visual engagement, and overall presentation.

Attendees and presenters will receive one voting sticker per poster session at check-in. To cast your vote, place your sticker on the poster you believe most effectively communicates its research and significance. Winners will be announced at the conclusion of the CAHS Scholarly Showcase. Certificate or recognition and t-shirts will be distributed to each winning individual or group.

Top 10 Research Posters Award

Ten outstanding posters will be selected to receive the CAHS Scholarly Showcase Top 10 Research Posters Award. Research posters will be evaluated by faculty, staff, alumni, and community partner volunteers.

Posters will be reviewed based on:

  • Content – Clearly stated objectives, strong methodology, and overall scholarly rigor.
  • Organization & Design – Logical flow, readability of text and figures, and visual appeal.
  • Presentation Delivery – Clear and organized verbal presentation, confidence and professionalism, overall audience engagement.

Top 10 Research Poster Awards evaluations will be tabulated and analyzed after the conference has concluded. Winners of this award will be notified at least 2 weeks after the conference and a recognition certificate and t-shirt will be available for pick up or printing.

Awardees’ names, poster titles, and mentors will be recognized on the Award Winners webpage.

Volunteer Poster Evaluators

The CAHS Scholarly Showcase relies on the support of volunteers to evaluate student research projects and help determine award recipients across multiple categories. Evaluators play a vital role in providing meaningful feedback to students and helping them strengthen their presentation and communication skills. We welcome alumni and community partners to serve in this important role.

Poster Evaluation Process

Evaluators will be assigned specific posters to review during the conference. To complete an evaluation, use your cell phone camera to scan the QR code displayed on the assigned poster. After scanning, tap the link that appears on your screen to access the online evaluation form. Submit the form once completed to finalize your review for that poster.

To evaluate your next assigned poster, simply scan its QR code and repeat the process. Evaluators will be assigned approximately 4–5 posters to evaluate during each poster session for which they register.

Register to be a poster evaluator

If you are interested in serving as an evaluator, please complete the registration form below. Schedules and additional event details will be shared no later than April 10, 2026.

Information for Student Presenters

Resources and Templates

We encourage you to consult with your mentor to see if there is a specific template you should be using for your poster.

What will I need to register for the CAHS Scholarly Showcase?

You will be asked to submit a presentation title, student name(s) and email addresses, mentor names and email addresses, a list of keywords associated with your project.

Your faculty mentor will also need to submit a 200 word max presentation description/abstract with your poster.

Registration will close on March 1st.

How will I print my poster?

Your faculty mentor will be alerted to your registration through Redcap. Work with your faculty mentor on your poster and they can submit your poster for printing in the system by the 4/3 deadline. Students should also submit a 200 word abstract to their faculty mentor with the poster; the faculty mentor will also submit that abstract during the poster printing process. The title, group names and abstract will be published on the conference website. The poster will be printed at the Help Desk in the Health Sciences building, and email communication will be sent when the poster is ready.
